Chess in this section happens inside a school or a society rather than in a room anyone can walk into. Most entries are schools and centres on the list where the Escuela Sevillana de Ajedrez says it teaches, in Seville, Mairena del Aljarafe and Dos Hermanas. That list is the source, and for most of them no page from the current school year confirms that the classes go on, so a parent should ask at the school office.

Two societies also have chess of their own: the Círculo Mercantil e Industrial on Calle Sierpes, which holds its international open in October, and the Real Club de Tenis Betis, whose memorial tournament is by invitation. The language-week tournament of the IES Jacarandá in Brenes is played in that school’s library.
